Wayne Irwin and the Pure Energy Solar team designed and installed a photovoltaic system for my lake house. As I had large trees around my home, we implemented an array over my boat lift and the adjacent seating area. Using high efficiency panels, my net energy consumption from the grid has been nil. For the past year, I have been paying Clay Electric for grid access fees only, no net energy consumption. Prior to the installation, I pushed Wayne for solar panels over both my detached garage and the main house. He took an engineer’s approach, not a salesman’s, and advised against this. When discussing my back-up power needs, he advised against a battery system (at that time). Again, he made recommendations based on what was the right thing to do, not what was best for his company’s bottom line. Subsequent to the installation, I had internet modem / router connectivity issues with the solar array. Wayne and his team were still responsive and supportive, long after the sale. The work crew is friendly, professional and tidy. Pure Energy is very active in our community to make the greater Gainesville area an ever better place to live. About a year ago, we bought a very large house in The Villages. While we needed a large house, we felt that it would be an energy hog, with two large air conditioners and pool heat pumps. We felt guilty for using so much electricity and so we started investigating solar energy to mitigate our energy footprint. Pure Energy Solar came highly recommended at a time when we almost gave up after talking to a number of very pushy salesmen from other companies. Wayne, of Pure Energy Solar, was great –knowledgeable, honest, friendly, polite, nice sense of humor. He was dependable, his crew was great, everything was done on time, no mess, and the system works great. My only complaint is the local electric company which does not seem to like losing customers to the sun.  

I found the folks at Pure Energy Solar easy to work with. From the beginning of the process I had a lot of questions, and they had clear answers. The system is up and working fine and we feel good about it!  

Wayne and Pure Energy Solar: I just wanted to pass along what a pleasure and quite frankly a “breath of fresh air” our conversation was with the feasibility of putting solar on my house. We got your name from friends of ours that recently got solar panels installed by your company and they spoke quite highly of you and your company. They told my wife and I that “Wayne was extremely professional and honest and up-front about the whole process”. In a day and age where companies are out to sell no matter what, you told me that because of the number of trees around my house it would not be cost-beneficial for us to process with solar panels. We would not be able to produce enough energy to pay for the investment. We talked that there are other ways to help the environment and lower our energy cost like replacing windows or adding more insulation and so on. Our money would be better utilized doing this than going solar. You told me that he hated to be the bearer of bad news and taking money from your hands/company, but he wanted me (all of his customers) to happy with the end results. So if there is anyone thinking about solar you need to talk to Wayne, he is honest and will not sell you something you don’t need or will not be able to use. Wayne and PES is the real deal and although I am a bit disappointed with not being able to use solar to get away from high utility bills, I am happy that he was honest and a “straight-shooter” and trust his recommendation. So my wife and I will move on to other options, most likely getting new windows and doors this coming year. Thank you again, Wayne your honesty, we really appreciate it and thank you for saving us the money we would have spent.  

The summer of 2018 I started researching solar companies. After the first two I started having doubts about what facts are true. The 3rd company was Pure Energy Solar and the owner Wayne came to discuss my options. He wasn’t like the other two companies who sent salesmen needing commission. Wayne stated facts which cleared some confusion I had from the other companies. Since their professional installation six months ago my Duke Energy bill has been zero! The summer before was around $300 and I’m expecting a check from Duke for making them electricity. Pure Energy made the process so painless. They did all the permits and sent me emails to sign and return. Plus I’m receiving 30% back from the US government on what I paid. So I helped the environment and my bank account for the future energy price increases that are coming. My payback should be about six years which will be nice since that’s my retirement date too. Wayne and his team are simply the best and top notch. No need to look anywhere else. We got several quotes but this team was the most engaging and pressure free. They installed 60 panels and the entire process was smoother, quicker and more professional than we have to come to expect from most home contractors. Their team is a stable, long term one and this shows in their work – they take pride in their work, are very courteous & professional, clearly are passionate about solar energy and were incredibly clean, organized, non disruptive. Overall an amazing experience. They also handled and coordinated all the necessary permitting and agreements with GRU. The final product is perfect and so much so that we asked them to add more panels within a few months which they did just as smoothly and effortlessly. The value, responsiveness, attention and availability were all better than large national companies that we talked with as well. If you are considering solar, save time and money and just call Wayne and his team!

In August 2017, we contracted Pure Energy Solar to install a roof-mounted 6.05 KW PV system at our house in Gainesville. The Pure Energy Solar personnel were very professional and easy to deal with, from the start of the process to the end.
